The weekend is officially over and I am glad to be writing again. It was a crazy weekend to say the least. It was a friend of mine’s birthday dinner and things got a little raucous to say the least. I am happy that it is over even though it was fun. I never did get that pedicure, though. Oh well! I just painted my toes myself and saved $20. Good time all around!
As you know, I have very recently paid off my credit card bill. Many (okay, maybe like two of you) may be wondering what I plan on doing now since I have this big debt off my shoulders. Well my dear readers, don’t think that the fun stops anytime soon. I still have student loans, a vacation fund (more on that later), a mortgage, and my own general savings that I need to contribute too. In short, there is much more that needs to be done.
In the coming months, I plan on contributing more to my student loans every month. I also plan on saving up for two vehicles. The boyfriend needs a truck to start looking for another job. My beat up Toyota also needs to be replaced soon. We also are now going to take a trip to the beach over the Thanksgiving holiday and will need to save at least $1000 for that. The lodging will be pretty cheap but we still have to pay everything else. We may even have to rent a car as I don’t really trust either of our cars for such long distances.
For the time being, I am still on a bit of a high from clearing the first big debt on my list. It is still an amazing feeling. All those months of scrimping and sacrificing were truly worth it. I now feel like financial security (or something close to it) are within my reach-something that did not seem possible just a short time ago. I am counting my blessings and looking forward to the future. Here’s to what’s left to come..
